The EPC enables fast and secure electronic payment transactions and is designed for maximum reliability and ease of use. With an Intel Atom™ Dual Core processor, fast DDR3 RAM, and the Intel NM10 express chipset, the EPC offers great performance with low power consumption for a more reliable design. For enhanced security, I/O ports are internal and are not accessible when the clamshell enclosure is closed. The die cast aluminum enclosure can be secured with a padlock, Kensington style lock, or tamper evident zip tie. In addition, dual NICs can offer further isolation of the credit network from the store network. An integrated power supply, long-life industrial grade components, a fanless thermal design, and solid state storage all contribute to strong reliability. And it’s easy to quickly determine device status with a backlit operator display, interactive menu control buttons, and five status LEDs on the front panel.
